Title IX: Understanding the Updates

Welcome to the “Title IX: Understanding the Updates” video lesson intended to provide an overview of the requirements under Title IX, including the updates effective in August of 2020. First, viewers will receive a brief overview of what Title IX is and how it’s enforced. Then, learners will gain an understanding of what covered institutions and their Title IX coordinators must do to promote gender equity and ensure compliance. Finally, this lesson goes over the latest updates regarding Title IX. Ultimately, learners should understand how they can protect their students, applicants, and employees from sex discrimination and respond in the event of a violation.

Prejudice and Discrimination

Carol and Marcus must get rid of prejudice and discrimination from Cutting Edge. Marcus holds a training session with everyone wearing different hats to explore the outcome of pre-judging just because of first impressions, and Casey falls victim to bad feedback on her first impressions. Sam enlightens viewers with an explanation of prejudice and mob mentality, while Dion encounters prejudice on account of his relationship with Marcus. While no one is completely immune from displaying prejudice, ensuing discrimination can be prevented by withholding judgment. Everyone must learn about and show respect. Protecting Employees from Workplace Discrimination

Workplace discrimination is a serious issue. The Equal Employment Opportunity Community reports over 100,000 bias cases annually. If employers are not being proactive they could be held responsible for failing to protect their employees from discrimination. This course provides some ideas of places you can start to protect your staff from discrimination.
